How to add Google Analytics 4 to a Ghost site
Add GA4 to your Ghost publication with code injection: paste the Google tag into the site header, save, and track newsletter signups as key events.
To add Google Analytics 4 to Ghost, copy the Google tag from GA4 and paste it into Settings → Code injection → Site header in Ghost Admin, then save. It's added to every page of your publication straight away.
Add the tag
In GA4, open Admin → Data streams → your stream → View tag instructions → Install manually, and copy the code.
In Ghost Admin, open Settings and find Code injection (under Advanced).
Paste the code into Site header and choose Save.
Count newsletter signups
Ghost sends new members to a confirmation flow. A simple, code-free way to count signups is to create a sign_up event in GA4 from views of the page members land on after signing up. Track signups without code.
Check it works
Open your site in a private window and GA4's Realtime overview. More ways to check.
