How fresh the numbers are, and Google's limits
How often SimpleDash refreshes your numbers, how late Google Analytics adds visits, Google's hourly limits, and what Free and Pro include.
SimpleDash keeps a copy of each report so pages open instantly, and refreshes it in the background. For any range that includes today, the copy is at most 30 minutes old; Google itself adds visits a few hours late, so today is always still filling up.
How often SimpleDash refreshes
| Range | Dashboard | Public pages |
|---|---|---|
| Ends today (every range except Yesterday) | Every 30 minutes | Every 1 hour |
| Includes yesterday | Every 3 hours | Every 12 hours |
| Ended before yesterday | Every 24 hours | Every 24 hours |
When you open a page, you see the latest copy at once. If it's older than the time above, SimpleDash fetches a new one in the background and the next visit has it. Right now is separate: the live count and the live view update every 20 seconds while the page is open.
How late Google adds visits
Google Analytics usually takes a few hours to process visits, and can take longer for a full day to settle. That's why today's part of the chart is dashed, and why it can be missing early in the day rather than showing a zero. Google's own page on data freshness has the details. More on GA4 delays.
Search Console data (Pro) is usually 2 to 3 days behind, and the Google search card says so.
Google's limits
Google limits how much each property can be read per hour and per day. SimpleDash stays well inside them by caching reports and asking for several cards in one request. If a property hits the hourly limit (often because other tools read it too), the dashboard shows the latest numbers and says when they'll refresh.
Public pages fetch at most 20 new custom date ranges per site per hour, so a stranger typing dates into your public page's address can't use up your limit.
Plan limits
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Sites | No limit | No limit |
| How far back | The last 30 days | Everything GA4 has |
| Monday email, Google search, revenue | No | Yes |
There's no limit on traffic: SimpleDash reads totals, so a site with a million visitors costs the same to show as one with ten.
