The summary line
How SimpleDash writes the one-line summary in the Monday email: built only from the numbers, with clear rules, and never a guess about why something changed.
Each site's block in the Monday email starts with one sentence that says what changed, such as "Visitors up 23% vs the week before, mostly from Google." It's built from the numbers with fixed rules, and it never guesses why.
The rules
- Visitors. A change under 3% either way reads "Visitors about the same as the week before". Otherwise: "Visitors up 23%" or "Visitors down 12%".
- Where the change came from. If one source made up at least half of the change, in the same direction, it adds "mostly from Google". Otherwise nothing is added.
- No comparison possible. If there's no honest comparison (a new property), it gives the total instead: "1,234 visitors in the last 7 days".
- Signups. If you've chosen a signup action and there were signups in either week: "12 signups, up from 8."
Why it never says why
The numbers can say what changed, not why. A drop in visitors could be a holiday, a lost ranking, a broken tracking tag or a slow week. Guessing would sound helpful and often be wrong, so SimpleDash doesn't. If you know why, add a chart note to remember it.

Numbers vs GA4
