What SimpleDash can't do
An honest list of what SimpleDash isn't for: no tracking script, no per-visitor journeys or funnels, no changes to GA4, and no data that GA4 doesn't have.
SimpleDash is a simple way to read the Google Analytics 4 data you already have. It isn't a replacement for GA4's deeper tools, and it isn't a privacy-first tracker. Here's what it doesn't do, so you can pick the right tool.
It doesn't track visitors itself
There's no SimpleDash script. If your site doesn't run GA4, SimpleDash has nothing to show. If you want to leave Google Analytics entirely, a tool with its own script, such as Plausible or Fathom, is a better fit. How they compare.
It doesn't show individual visitors
No visitor journeys, session recordings, heatmaps or user profiles. SimpleDash reads totals and never stores anything about a single visitor.
It doesn't replace GA4's deeper reports
Funnels, explorations, audiences, custom dimensions and attribution models stay in GA4. SimpleDash covers the questions most small sites ask every week: how many came, from where, what they read, and did anyone sign up or pay.
It can't change your GA4
Access is read-only. SimpleDash can't create events, mark key events, change settings or add users. When something needs changing in GA4, our guides show you how to do it there.
It can't show data GA4 doesn't have
- No visits from before you installed GA4.
- No visitors who refused cookies or block Google Analytics.
- No signups or sales GA4 isn't told about.
Other things it doesn't do (yet)
- Google Ads data.
- Shared team accounts (share a public page instead).
- Languages other than English.
